3rd backpack in about two weeks

A couple of weeks back I had just arrived at my office at school when I noticed that there was about a 15 centimeter gash at the bottom of my backpack where one seam had burst (it's a good thing there wasn't anything particularly small in that compartment). That backpack had served me quite some number of years, and so I wasn't too surprised to see it finally go (there were some other weakening points as well).

Anyways, I happened to have another backpack kicking around in storage (more accurately it was then storing stuff), and so that one ended up getting put into service finally. I was quite annoyed to discover that that thing couldn't easily hold a 1 liter water bottle, and it also had some other oddities. Anyways, two days into that backpack's work life some of its seams also started today, so that was enough of a reason finally to start looking for something new.

Finally today, I walked over to MEC today - after picking up a couple of free Calgary Flames tickets at the Saddledome - and obtained another new backpack (which hopefully will last me at least a few years).

Now to figure out what to do about that pair of tickets... (queue the CLDG jokes)

where one seem had burst

I guess that's how you spell it after getting a university degree! So much for higher education!

I'm not crazy...oh, wait, nevermind.

I studied Computing and History, not spelling!

Another thing that I picked up at MEC was the southwestern Alberta edition of the Backroads Mapbook. Add in my deluxe southern BC edition (which basically merges 3 regular editions today), and I now have continuous coverage from the west coast to somewhere east of Calgary. Lots of roads and trails to explore, and I think that I might have to take up canoeing or kayaking this summer.
