C.S. Lewis on doubt...

It somehow seems appropriate to post a couple of quotes by C.S. Lewis, as cited in the latest issue of Modern Reformation magazine:

  • Agnosticism is, in a sense, what I am preaching. I do not wish to reduce the skeptical element in your minds. I am only suggesting that it need not be reserved exclusively for the New Testament and the Creeds. Try doubting something else.
  • In coming to understand anything, we are rejecting the facts as they are for us in favour of the facts as they are.
