Microsoft Train Simulator 2 screenshots
Microsoft's sequel to the Train Simulator product is built on the same engine used for Flight Simulator X, and now we've got some screen captures to see what it looks like. It looks to me that the locomotives and rolling stock are still more detailed than the rest of the environment, but the gap is certainly a lot smaller than it was in the first version.

What sort of computational
What sort of computational horsepower do you think that it takes to run something of that sort?
The screenshots look pretty good! Has a release date for the product been announced, or are they still a ways away from that yet?

Probably same system
Probably same system requirements as Flight Simulator X. No release date has been announced yet, but there are some developer blogs to follow if you want.
