That Cuddly Kitty Is Deadlier Than You Think
I'm guessing that my interest may have more to do with me being allergic to cats than the environmental concerns herein: "cats are far deadlier than anyone realized... The estimated kill rates are two to four times higher than mortality figures previously bandied about, and position the domestic cat as one of the single greatest human-linked threats to wildlife in the nation."
Opinion: Sun News Network wants same regulatory treatment as its competitors
The closest I've seen to a good argument for mandatory carriage of Sun News, though I'm still not sure I buy it. In general you're likely to get the best overview of what's going on by examining news sources from a bunch of different perspectives.
Urban Heat May Warm Faraway Places
"The massive amounts of heat produced by cities may be heating up rural areas 1,000 miles (1,600 kilometers) away, atmospheric researchers have found in a new modeling study." If the urban heat effect plays out that far from city centres does this count for or against complaints about weather station placement as an argument against global warming?

An Oil Town Where Men Are Many, and Women Are Hounded
Sometimes uncomfortable, maybe awkward, but despite Jezebel arguing that it was unsafe, the area's crime rate appears to be significantly lower than the national average.
The Great Migration
"... half of the jobs in university political science programs went to graduates of the top 11 schools. That is to say, if you have a Ph.D. from Harvard, Stanford, Princeton and so on, your odds of getting a job are very good. If you earned your degree from one of the other 100 degree-granting universities, your odds are not. These other 100 schools don’t even want to hire the sort of graduates they themselves produce. They want the elite credential."
Lego accused of racism with Star Wars set
"The Turkish Cultural Community of Austria released a statement calling for Lego to apologise for affronting religious and cultural feelings." - This is based on the [Jabba the Hutt] set's supposed derivation from the Hagia Sophia mosque in Istanbul. Incidentally as far as religious offense goes that particular building was originally constructed as a church until being plundered and seized for use as a mosque - i.e. it's actually an example of Byzantine architecture.
God, Man, and Marriage
"There is a certain segment of the Manosophere that is both nominally Christian and participates in the Men’s Rights Movement (MRM). I generally make a point of avoiding these people since, as far as I can tell based on what I’ve read, they generally make a point of blaming women for everything that’s wrong with the world."
