Remind you of the movie Airplane?

A flight attendant aboard a transatlantic Air Canada flight that diverted to Ireland in January was "not out of place" when she took the place of a co-pilot who became belligerent and had to be removed from the cockpit, according to a report released Wednesday.

The report, issued by the Irish Transportation Ministry, said the female flight attendant - who had a commercial pilot's licence - replaced the first officer on the Boeing 767 flight bound for London from Toronto. It had 146 passengers and nine crew on board.

I remember hearing about the co-pilot going nuts, but didn't realize that he was replaced by a flight attendant. (Note that having a commercial pilot's license does not mean that one has flown anything more than a little single-engine Cessna - a multi-engine rating isn't required for a commercial license let alone any experience flying passenger jets)
