A batch of fresh photos

Today I finally got tired of having had a half-roll of film in my camera so I took a number of silly shots in order to fill the thing up. Anyways, I now have some proof that I'm not only consuming unhealthy stuff, a couple of photos from the trip to Edmonton, and a somewhat winteresque scene with my car in the midst of it (given that it's snowed at least a little each day this week, I'm glad that I've been bussing and haven't had to brush off the snow each morning).

I've discovered that I don't like precipitation in any form, but at the same time snow on the ground isn't necessarily too bad.

One photo had been intended to fool people into thinking that I had been in Toronto, but in order to accomplish that I would have had to have had the film developed right away. I'm sure that Darren will be disappointed that I didn't take photos of any locomotives in Edmonton other than of the sign variety.

Slightly disappointed, but not too worried. I'm sure you'll get out one of these Saturdays to catch a few trains somewhere.

I'm not crazy...oh, wait, nevermind.

Well, if you pop by Calgary one of these days I might do a little railfanning then (BTW, are the three of you planning on heading out here this summer, given that IIRC a new niece or nephew is on the way in this vicinity? And, are you still considering trucking Vancouver to Calgary or Edmonton instead of dump-trucking?)

Somehow winterish temperatures aren't exactly encouraging me to spend a lot of time just waiting around for something to show up. I need to get some wintery boots or shoes - probably on clearance at this point - as I've been running around the past few months with runners and dress shoes. Thus far I've survived by sometimes throwing on an extra pair of socks for insulation, but if I want to stand around for hours outside I'd like something a little more winterproof. One activity that I truly do dislike is shopping for footwear, so I've been procrastinating as long as possible with that particular errand.

Currently my SLR doesn't even have film loaded, and I've yet to tweak the scanner's frequency database for Calgary.

I'm not sure how developing it right away would have made it more convincing. IIRC the CN Tower in Toronto looks nothing like that even at the bottom. It also helps that I've seen the CN Tower in Edmonton enough times to recognize it in a photo.

My destination wasn't exactly worth keeping secret for any length of time - hence the need for speed if I could hope to fool anyone.
