The article does note that "Technology isn't the only way to improve teaching, of course, and some argue that it can hinder it", but personally I'd argue that generally speaking people who "teach with technology" are on average worse instructors than those who don't.

I don't think technology is necessarily any better than 'boring lectures' - a lecture in university with a droning tone isn't much improved by a powerpoint of exactly the same words being read off to you. It uses technology yes - so now you're staring at a screen of words of exactly the same thing. It needs to be used properly.

Personally I'd prefer more group discussions/partner work interspersed with lectures to keep me engaged.
