Yay for open-source software!

Cable got hooked up this evening, so now I'm no longer living in a zero channel universe. After a little bit of tweaking my el-cheapo TV got setup correctly.

My TV tuner card was a little more pesky to get working. It came out of the bargain bin a year or two ago because it lacked support for Windows XP. I was at first able to use the Windows 2000 drivers for the card, but some security patches seemed to disable that. Luckily my TV tuner card uses one of the most common chipsets available, and there are indeed even third-party drivers available for this card for windows. Currently I'm using an app called DScaler for actual viewing. It seems to work pretty well.
