From the latest episode of the White Horse Inn

We're not saying that the truth is in the lingo. There are a lot of people who can pass their catechism exam with flying colours and they know the good words and the bad words and buzz words and slogans ... but they don't really understand the gospel. And there are people who really understand the gospel, but couldn't really give you a good formulation to save their life.

This sounded like Mike Horton's voice. It occurred 12:40 into the Sept. 23rd edition of the White Horse Inn

So are you saying that is a good thing or a bad thing?

I'm really not quite sure what my thoughts are on this one. It seemed a little ironic since my last post on this show was relating to the way I thought that they seemed to be quibbling over the definitions of words.

Let's just say that I've had a few bad experiences in some full-subscriptionist settings in the past.

It also raises the question of what standards you should be using to determine genuineness of professions - they can't be entirely devoid of knowledge, but at the same time the knowledge can't be merely academic.
