Today's reason to dislike DRM comes courtesy of Microsoft

The BBC is reporting that tracks purchased from MSN Music, which are part of Microsoft's "Plays for Sure" initiative, will not be playable on Microsoft's forthcoming Zune portable player.

DRM?

Technology to prevent you from doing what you want with the data you have.

eg. It's why only iPod owners can listen to stuff from the iTunes music store on portable players (and why I do not utilize the iTunes music store), and why Apple can arbitrarily impose restriction on the music files you've purchased from them and even prevent you from accessing them.

Digital Rights Management iirc

I'm not crazy...oh, wait, nevermind.

One problem solved, a new one to resolve... what is IIRC? :P

If I Recall Correctly (or remember)

I'm not crazy...oh, wait, nevermind.
