Theory and practice are a bit different of course though not entirely unrelated.

Using government income transfer from one person to another doesn't magically make this problem go away.

Low Income Child Care
Yep didn't realize how expensive child care actually was until I looked it up a few months ago. Hard to comprehend that it costs more in half the states than a year of college including fees. Barely makes sense to go to work if you are just treading water (and in some cases losing money). Hard if you are a single parent that's for sure!
