Someplace that even Darren may not be crazy enough to want to railfan...

I stumbled across a BBC story today announcing the completion of a railway line into Tibet. A few quotes from the article:

Trains travelling on the line will have to have carriages that are sealed like aircraft to protect passengers from altitude sickness. .... The workers who built the line had to breathe bottled oxygen in order to cope with the high altitudes.

To railfan that would probably count as even crazier than this

Well, the invoice has arrived...

It seems that I've finally received my renewal invoice for the hosting account here (my current year ends on something like November 7th I think). Now I guess comes decision time, as to whether or not I renew for another year. I'm fairly optomistic about where I'll be in January at this point - the remaining issues will hopefully be settled one way or the other in under a week - and I may not be quite as tight financially as I originally thought so I think that I may end up springing for a renewal.

Any thoughts on the site's speed / uptime over the course of the past year?

On the topic of election...

There was one verse that I brought up in Bible study last week when we were dealing with the topic of election, and I still can't say that I've found an interpretation that fits into Calvin's model of thinking on the topic.

Anyways, here are the words of Christ as quoted from Luke 13:34 (WEB):

Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
