What to do with a stat holiday in February?

It was nice not to have to work today, it being a stat holiday and all. It's so unfortunate that B.C. doesn't have such a thing. Don't you wish that you had the day off as well? (OK ... enough rubbing it in I guess).

Anyways, I went on a spur of the moment trip to Edmonton this weekend. I decided that I might as well go, phoned some relatives up in Edmonton, and was packed and had the engine in the car running within a time span of about 10 minutes (one benefit of being single and living away from your parents I guess).

Anyways, there's more to come in a bit. I'm running Windows at the moment, so unsurprisingly I need to reboot to complete a security update.

The taboo of dining alone

You know, going to restaurants is all well and good when in the company of others, but I tend to avoid all but take-out or fast food joints when dining solo. The only exception - and even that's a maybe - might be something like a truck stop.

On a related note, any suggestions for what to have for supper tomorrow? I was thinking of trying an Indian take-out place, but I can't say that I know of any that would be particularly easy to get to other than by car (which may or may not be a viable option tomorrow). Saturday for me seems to have become one day on which I don't cook, and I'm trying to be at least a little adventuresome as far as food goes.

How did Darren miss this one yesterday?

Get out those 125 birthday candles!

And the bounties crop up...

I noticed today that as part of the whole Muslim furor over those Danish cartoons, that some bounties have finally cropped up (or at least I finally became aware of them). Anyone have any thoughts on this topic?

And, for your viewing pleasure...
